I had the privilege of singing this song on Easter in 2010 with my remarkably talented friend Darren. Below is what I wrote following his passing in September 2019:
So many songs have a special place and deeper meaning because I sang them with you throughout the years I had the privilege to know you. We praised God together and we comforted mourning families together through music. Some songs fill me with emotion because they were my cries out to God to heal and restore you in this life. Some songs I sang over you in hopes they would bring you comfort. God gave you an incredible gift, and you used it to bless so many people. We are deeply saddened today, but we know you are now worshiping face to face with Jesus. We take great comfort knowing that Christ went to the cross to raise dying men back to life again, to heal our wounded souls, and make us white as snow. He conquered the grave to heal our brokenness, and today you are completely healed. It’s a miracle and a mystery. I love you my friend! Until we meet again.
